CA Updates: CA19 Update 14

QIRC publishes CA19 on their website

As I reported would occur in a recent CA19 Update, the QIRC has now published a copy of CA19 on their website.

You can access the agreement here.

Please note that this version of the agreement, through various transmissions between your union, QFES and the QIRC has lost some of the final formatting work done by your union, and is less than perfect in its layout. The content is still accurate.  However in due course we are going to ensure a correctly formatted version is made available on the QIRC website.

ACC first meeting to occur in November

Clause 19 of CA19 requires Agency Consultative Committees (ACC’s) to be formed.

This will be an important committee as there is an agreement between your union and QFES that the ACC’s will guide work on the Safe Crewing Task Force (clause 12), and also the policies to be written as required by clause 36.  Therefore the ACC will not only manage ongoing and regular dialogue between your union and Fire and Rescue on terms and conditions of employment, but will also ensure compliance with the requirements of clauses 12 and 36.

Clause 12 states that the Terms of Reference for the operation of the Safe Crewing Task Force must be developed by 6 February 2020.  Your union has commenced drafting those and we will provide them to QFES for discussion and eventual agreement on content and the goals to be set, by the end of 2019.

As I reported recently, I will continue to provide CA19 Updates as matters roll out and are implemented. This means that ca@ufuq.com.au will remain the contact point for members who have questions about the operation of CA19.
