ca19 - update 9

I am happy to report that the UFUQ is in the final stages of completing drafting checks on CA19.  QFES has released the draft for review (a period of 14 days).  Minor amendments will occur during this time, and I will keep you updated on those as they occur.

If significant changes occur as you and your union continue to pick up changes and fixes, then the 14 day review period may be extended.

You can find the current draft document on the QFES Gateway here (but keep checking back as some changes may likely be made).

Each version of the document is available at that link as they are replaced, and the review period ought to be completed on Monday 7 October 2019.

A voting period of approximately one week will then commence, I will communicate with you again with details about the voting period before that commences.

During the review and voting period, well over 20 information sessions will be held at stations and fire communication centres across every region, and I hope you have the opportunity to attend one of the sessions to hear about the outcomes in the draft and what it means for those who attend.

Dates and times of the information sessions have been sent in separate emails to all members.

I am sure that once you have the opportunity to review the agreement you will agree with me that it is a positive step forward for the terms and conditions of employment of firefighters and fire communication officers and it sets you and your colleagues up with some confidence that for the next three years and beyond, your employment is secure and strong and your entitlements are locked away.

I will be back in touch regularly as the process continues.
