CODE 2, VOL 31, NO 15 : 20 april 2017

I am happy to report to you that an overwhelming majority of UFUQ members voted ‘YES’ to accept the draft CA16 agreement offer put to you for review and ballot.

In fact, both the turn out (total voters) and the result were some of the highest results in the history of this sort of agreement process between your union and Fire and Rescue.

Of the 1791 votes received, 1761 voted ‘YES’ (98.32%) and 30 voted ‘NO’ (1.68%).

The process from here is QFES will soon submit an application to QIRC for a hearing to allow for the agreement to be certified.

As previously discussed, the certification and therefore commencement date are now drawing near (pending any complications with the QIRC processes, none of which are expected).

I want to thank those who took the time to vote, this new certified agreement will provide ongoing and new entitlements for all covered by it.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank the QFES negotiating team, representatives of the other unions, and those involved in drafting content with your union.  I remind you some content that will support new entitlements is still to be completed.

I will advise you once the QFES application to QIRC has been submitted.
