QSuper Defined Benefit Members Only

You are aware that payroll weeks changed for you in late 2019 (and that your union had no control over this decision), and as a result this may have created a shortfall in your defined benefit calculation.

Despite creating this problem, QFES have failed to resolve it and/or communicate to their employees how they go about resolving it. This means that for many of you the problem may still remain unresolved and may possibly have a detrimental impact on your defined benefit calculation.

As a result, your union has spoken at length to QSuper to find a solution for you and following our discussions they have provided this fact sheet
here.

The fact sheet includes information relating to ‘catch-up contributions’ which are designed to address shortfalls for various reasons.

QSuper recommend all defined benefit beneficiaries read the fact sheet and then contact them to find out more about your eligibility to make ‘catch-up contributions’.

The UFUQ recommend that all defined benefit members consider this advice carefully.

Should you have any questions or concerns relating to ‘catch-up contributions’ or your superannuation they should be directed to QSuper who can be contacted on 1300 360 750 (the UFUQ does not hold an Australian financial services licence and is therefore not authorised to provide advice on financial products, including superannuation).
