CODE 2, VOL 35, NO 16 : 11 June 2021

NEW PAY POINTS FROM 1 JULY 2021

As you will recall, as part of CA19 negotiations, the UFUQ fought for and secured new pay points for members.

From 1 July 2021, in accordance with Schedule 1 of CA19, members will be entitled to these new pay points (with the exception of the rank of Firefighter as their new pay point [PP2] commenced on 1 July 2020).

These are:

• First Class Firefighter – Pay Point 4
• Senior Firefighter – Pay Point 4
• Leading Firefighter – Pay Point 2
• Station Officer 1 – Pay Point 3
• Station Officer 2 – Pay Point 3
• Station Officer 3 – Pay Point 3
• Firefighter BAO 1 – Pay Point 3
• Firefighter BAO 2 – Pay Point 3
• BAO 1 – Pay Point 3
• BAO 2 – Pay Point 3
• Fire Communications Officer – Pay Point 5
• Fire Communications Supervisor – Pay Point 5
• Fire Communications Manager – Pay Point 4

Therefore, any member at a rank identified in the list above who has served at least 12 months at the current high pay point for their rank will be eligible for the new higher pay point on 1 July 2021. For example, members who have been at the current high pay point for Senior Firefighter (currently SFF PP3) for 12 months or more at 30 June 2021 will move to the new PP4 on 1 July 2021.

From 1 July 2021, eligibility for the new pay points will simply be 12 months service at the previous pay point.

The UFUQ have been advised by QFES that arrangements have been made to ensure this adjustment occurs automatically for eligible employees and no action will be required from members.

However, if an error is made by QFES and/or Queensland Shared Services (QSS) regarding your eligibility for a new pay point, in the first instance, please ensure you raise the issue with your regional HR contact as soon as possible.

If your issue remains unresolved, follow the email process QSS requires, and keep your evidence for provision to a UFUQ representative for assistance if necessary.
