AUXILIARY UPDATE : 19 august 2024
AUXILIARY UPDATE - 2% INCREASE IN CASUAL LOADING - DECISION
As a member of the Queensland Council of Unions (QCU) your union was invited to contribute to the QCU application to raise the 23% casual loading to 25%.
I am pleased to report that the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) Decision and a General Ruling in favour of the application were both delivered on 16 August 2024. You can find a copy of the General Ruling here.
The Decision and General Ruling provide for application of the new 25% casual rate from Monday 23 September 2024. This means your wages from then on will raise by the 2% being added to your hourly rate.
State Wage Case - Update:
In a separate QIRC case, the State Government is due to file their formal response to the QCU application for a 3.75% wage rise on Tuesday 20 August 2024. Your union is hoping the government considers the 3.75% claim lodged by the QCU is fair and reasonable, and that they do not contest the amount.
As previously reported, the hearings for the State Wage Case are set to commence on 3 September. I will provide regular updates as the matter progresses.
