AUXILIARY UPDATE : 24 may 2017

Retention Allowance Dispute – update

I recently wrote to you advising you of an ongoing dispute your union has with the QFES regarding their failure to apply the provisions of clause 15.4 of your award to auxiliaries who achieved attendance of at least 75% of scheduled weekly training, but did not receive the retention allowance provided for in clause 15.4.

On Wednesday 24 May 2017, there is a dispute conciliation conference at QIRC, where the Commission will hear both your union and QFES put their case with the aim that the Commission can negotiate an outcome satisfactory to both parties.

In the event that no outcome can be reached, the Commission will either set dates for further conciliation attempts, or refer the matter to arbitration, meaning the decision on how the clause is to be applied will rest in the hands of the Commission.

I will inform you of the outcome of the conciliation process and how it may affect you.
