CA22 - Update 5 - UFUQ ATTEMPTS TO PROGRESS MATTERS WHILE QFES WAITS FOR AUTHORITY TO BARGAIN

26 August 2022

As per my previous updates, the state government is still not finished its preparation of a bargaining framework to provide QFES and many other government agencies to allow bargaining to commence.

As such, the hurry up and wait continues. Your union has met a few times with QFES and we have begun talking about generic proposals for content in CA22, but no formal bargaining can take place.

All unions have agreed that on Friday 26 August at the bargaining meeting (where no bargaining can occur) we will start to table for discussions our non-financial claims in more detail. These don’t require bargaining about money, or costings, and so hopefully some pre-agreement might be reached on some of the more simple matters for CA22.

Once all union’s non-financial claims are on the table, a copy of them all will be placed on the UFUQ website and I will provide all members with a link to those non-financial claims so you can see the sort of work your union is trying to achieve while was wait for the go ahead.

QFES has also started to provide some very generic detail on the sort of matters they will seek to bargain on, but the specifics have not been provided. To share these now would cause more questions than answers, so your union is waiting for the full and final claims log to be shared and you will receive a copy promptly after that log is tabled by QFES.

As always, any questions about this process can be sent to ca22@ufuq.com.au and all questions will receive a reply as soon as possible.
