QIRC sets hearing date for application for certification of CA19

I am pleased to report the progression towards commencement of your new terms and conditions of employment as contained in CA19 has reached the stage where the industrial commission has listed the application for hearing.

CB/2019/104 will be heard by the QIRC on Thursday 14 November 2019 at 09:30AM.

I expect that the commission will not identify any barriers to certification, however, I cannot predict what concerns the commission may hold about the content of CA19.  Should the commission be satisfied with the application and the content of CA19, they will certify the agreement and nominate a commencement date.

The commencement date determined by the QIRC will be the date that all new provisions will become operable, and that will also allow for the commencement of calculations of backpay of the wage rise preserved to 1 July 2019 (QFES ongoing payroll changeover processes notwithstanding). 

It will also allow for the trigger of the one off payment to be provided as soon as possible.
