ca22 update 10 - CA22 UPDATE 10 - BARGAINING CONCLUDED / FORMAL OFFER DUE SOON

02 November 2022

I am pleased to report that your union and QFES have reached ‘in-principle’ agreement on the outcomes of CA22 bargaining, and in doing so have preserved the date for backpay to 1 July 2022. We now await approval of those outcomes from the Queensland Government.

Once the outcomes are approved by the Government, all parties to CA22 will commence the necessary (and lengthy) steps to have the agreement certified in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. This process was outlined in CA22 UPDATE 9 dated 28 October 2022 which you can access here.

I remind members that the payment of back pay and the commencement of the outcomes of CA22 bargaining are subject to the certification of CA22.

As we still await approval from the Government, I cannot publicly communicate the outcomes of CA22 bargaining at this stage. However, more information will be provided to members once we have approval of the outcomes.

I do not expect any major issues to arise with obtaining approval from the Government. Therefore, the UFUQ will be holding a series of Branch meetings and station and fire communication centre visits across late November and early December.
