ca22 - Update 12 - document drafting continues as we await formal approval of your new deal

25 January 2023

As discussed in the most recent CA22 UPDATE, QFES and your union are waiting on the sign-off of the in principle deal on your new certified agreement.  That sign-off is likely going to arrive by mid-February.

In the interim, drafting continues, as we want to provide you with a review copy of the proposed CA22 document as soon as we can.

The likely approximate time-frames for your new agreement are –
• Formal government approval of the deal is due mid-February
• Drafting completion is due mid-March
• Your review period is likely to be late March / early April
• Your voting period is likely to be in April
• QIRC hearing, certification and commencement is likely to be in early May

Once the document is certified, QFES and QSS will commence all of the various calculations on your pay, your back pay, the cost of living adjustment and more.

This means the middle of this year is likely going to be a period where you’ll receive almost a year’s backpay on the 4% wage increase you were due to be paid on 1 July 2022, the cost of living adjustment payment (if applicable) and the 4% wage increase due on 1 July 2023.

I will update you on all of the above information as it slowly becomes locked in, including providing you with a formal list of all outcomes obtained during bargaining as soon as the formal approval is received.

As always, questions about any of your CA22 matters can be sent to ca22@ufuq.com.au and we will reply as promptly as we can.
