QIRC HEARING DATE SET

The QIRC has notified parties to CA22 that the hearing to certify the new agreement will be on Wednesday 24 May 2023. The QIRC has advised they will endeavour to have the hearing and issue the notice of certification on the same day, meaning that your new CA22 is likely to be effective from Thursday 25 May 2023.

BACKPAY AND OTHER PAYMENTS MAY NOW BE DELAYED

When you will actually be paid post-commencement of CA22 is now unfortunately in the hands of decision makers in HR and payroll at QFES.  I have asked for an urgent update on whether QFES HR, payroll and QSS can achieve the calculation and processing of your payments.  You can rest assured that I am pressing very hard for three of the payments you will be entitled to occurring this financial year.

Those payments are –
• Backpay of correction of error in payment of annual leave loading in December 2022, and
• First COLA payment of 3% of annualised wage (due within three months of announcement of relevant figure, which was 26 April 2023), and
• Backpay of 4% wage rise that will be applied to 1 July 2022, and
• Payment of new 4% wage rise due on 1 July 2023.
