17.5% ANNUAL LEAVE LOADING PAYMENT OCCURS 1 DECEMBER 2022

I am pleased to report that on 1 December 2022 eligible member’s pay will include the annual payment of 17.5% annual leave loading.

You will recall that in 2020 the UFUQ negotiated and obtained from the previous Fire and Rescue Minster the historic commitment to provide an additional payment to you annually.  The payment is similar to a return of annual leave loading. In December 2021 you received a pro rata amount, however this year you will receive your full annual accrual on your 200 hours of annual leave.

I am aware that some members’ provisional payslips may show peculiar calculations, however QFES and QSS have assured us that they have calculated your annual leave loading correctly.  There is the possibility that errors may be made by QFES and/or QSS regarding these payments. If an error is made, in the first instance, please ensure you raise the issue with your regional HR contact as soon as possible.

If an issue remains unresolved, subsequent to contacting regional HR and receiving a reply that you don’t agree with, please notify your local UFUQ representative for assistance.

A quick calculation of the amount you receive will show this is equivalent to a further annual pay rise of approximately 1.5%, obtained by the UFUQ, and that this is paid to all eligible employees, be they UFUQ members or not.
