v37#21 QFES DRAWS CLOSER TO EXTINCTION

v37#20 FIRE SERVICE UNABLE TO PROVIDE PAYMENT INFORMATION ON CA22 ALLOWANCES!
In this edition - Members who work at live fire campus or as DMO’s have rightly been asking when their allowances and provisions arising from CA22 might commence, given the agreement was certified in May 2023.
v37#19 INCREASED SUPERANNUATION PAYMENTS: COMMENCEMENT DATE CONFIRMED
In this edition - You will recall I reported to you all that in June 2023 the Queensland Treasurer, the Hon Mr Cameron Dick, wrote to your union confirming an increase in accumulated benefit superannuation for all members employed under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 due to the forced retirement age.
v37#18 FIREFIGHTERS’ REMEMBRANCE DAY
In this edition - Firefighters Remembrance Day is honoured every year on October 10, with flags at all fire stations flown at half-mast and a minute's silence observed at 10am. For those at station, a siren blast from your appliance for 10 seconds is also fitting at the conclusion of the minute silence.

In this edition - With the Easter period, ANZAC Day and Labour Day almost upon us, I provide the following to UFUQ members to clear up any confusion that may exist regarding what you are entitled to claim on the many upcoming public holidays.
AUXILIARY FIREFIGHTER DEPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Auxiliary Update - 21 December 2021
In this edition - It would not be the Christmas and New Year period without some confusion regarding what members are entitled to claim on the many public holidays across the period.
Auxiliary Update - 06 September 2021
In this edition - You will no doubt recall that your union was pushing for an external review of QFES to examine the structure and funding of the agency, and decide if the current QFES is effective, efficient and sustainable, and if not, what options are available to the Minister for Fire and Emergency Services to make changes.
Auxiliary Update - 3 September 2021
In this edition - On 30 August 2021, following submissions on your behalf by your union through the Queensland Council of Unions (who present the combined formal position of all unions), the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (the QIRC) handed down it’s 2021 State Wage Case Decision.
