In this edition - As you would no doubt be aware by now, this morning Commissioner Leach emailed all staff to advise that he is considering the possibility of introducing mandatory covid-19 vaccination for you.

V35#42 LIVE FIRE CAMPUS UPDATE AND OFFICE CLOSURE
In this edition - In CA19, your union successfully negotiated an external assessment of the live fire training work to determine if they ought to receive an allowance. I am pleased to report that the independent assessment did indeed determine those working at live fire were deserving of additional remuneration. Discussions between QFRS and your union continue to ensure that the allowances recommended for the live fire trainer work are paid as soon as possible.
V35#41 PUBLIC HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENTS OVER CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR PERIOD
In this edition - It would not be the Christmas and New Year period without some confusion regarding what members are entitled to claim on the many public holidays across the period.
v35#40 SAFE CREWING TASK FORCE – REPORT PUBLISHED AND AVAILABLE TO ALL
In this edition - Following some incredibly useful input form members across the state, I am pleased to report that the Safe Crewing Task Force (SCTF) Report has been published by the QFES Commissioner. Those of you who participated in the many UFUQ forums and discussions about safe and full crewing across the state will recall this report is the opportunity to set out the UFUQ position on a range of barriers to safe and full crewing, and to use your ideas on how to put forward ways to reduce or remove those barriers.

Auxiliary Update - 24 May 2024
In this edition - You will recall I advised you earlier this year of your 2023 wage rise. You will soon see an increase in your remuneration (for example hourly rate and annual retention allowances) by 5.75%. This increase is a result of the State Wage Case, run by Queensland Unions in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
Auxiliary Update - 02 April 2024
In this edition - Throughout the second half of 2023, your union provided multiple inputs (through the Queensland Council of Unions) to the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) State Wage Case (SWC) hearings to ensure your work was considered by the QIRC in deciding on what wage rise (if any) to apply to Queensland Modern Awards for 2023.
