Code 2 : v35#17 2 X 2.5% WAGE RISES – 1 JULY 2021 & 1 JANUARY 2022

In this edition - I wanted to take the opportunity to build on the good news from the Code 2 (V35/#16) dated 11 June 2021 outlining the new pay points many of you will immediately be eligible for, or will soon be eligible for, from 1 July 2021.

Code 2 : v35#16 NEW PAY POINTS FROM 1 JULY 2021

In this edition - From 1 July 2021, in accordance with Schedule 1 of CA19, members will be entitled to these new pay points (with the exception of the rank of Firefighter as their new pay point [PP2] commenced on 1 July 2020).

Code 2 : v35#15 SAFE CREWING TASK FORCE MEETINGS

In this edition - In June and July, your state office will be visiting a range of representative work locations across all seven regions to seek member input on Safe Crewing Task Force (SCTF) matters, including what safe and full crewing means at your specific work location, what solutions you can identify, and any other information about the issues that restrict safe and full crewing.

Code 2 : v35#14 PRESUMPTIVE LEGISLATION FOR PTSI NOW LAW

In this edition - On 12 May 2021, I reported to members that the Queensland Parliament passed amendments to Queensland’s workers’ compensation laws to include presumptive legislation for PTSI for Firefighters and Fire Communications Officers.

Code 2 : v35#13 PRESUMPTIVE LEGISLATION FOR PTSI PASSED BY PARLIAMENT

In this edition - As you would know, after many years of campaigning, in September 2015, the Palaszczuk Government passed amendments to Queensland’s workers’ compensation laws that introduced presumptive legislation for Firefighters who are diagnosed with one of 12 cancers. UFUQ members have benefited greatly from these laws. But cancers are not the only work related injuries that significantly affect UFUQ members, and since 2015 your union has been campaigning for similar presumptive legislation for PTSI.
