In this edition - I am pleased to report that a process that commenced over 18 months ago with your union’s submissions to the Independent Review of the Queensland workers’ compensation system concluded on Thursday 22 August 2024 with the Queensland Parliament passing many amendments to the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (Qld).

QFD was created to ‘enable… the Fire and Rescue Service to return to being operationally focused—a fire service run by firefighters’ (Minister Boyd 30 April 2024 Hansard page 1329).

Apparently, this is organisational development!
