v35#29 MEDIA ARTICLE GROSSLY MISREPRESENTS BLUECARD STATISTICS FOR ‘FIRIES’
In this edition - I know you’re aware that for some years your union has been working to maintain the identity and tradition of your professional firefighting roles. This includes protecting your uniform, rank, insignia, the protection of the use of the red trucks, and so much more. And it includes ensuring someone who is called a firefighter (or a firie) actually is one.
v35#28 PRELIMINARY INFORMATION ABOUT UFUQ LOCAL BRANCH REPRESENTATIVE ELECTIONS
In this edition - **THIS CODE 2 INCLUDES GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPCOMING ELECTION FOR UFUQ LOCAL BRANCHES AND DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO TAKE ANY ACTION.**
v35#27 INDEPENDENT QFES STRUCTURE REVIEW – UPDATE

v35#23 QFES/SOU 17.5% - WHAT IS THE SOU QIRC APPLICATION ALL ABOUT?
In this edition - It has been reported to me that SOU members are either possibly deliberately or probably accidentally creating confusion throughout the regions about the subject matter of their union’s application to the QIRC.

In this edition - I am pleased to report that in June 2023 the Queensland Treasurer, the Hon Mr Cameron Dick, wrote to your union confirming an increase in accumulated benefit superannuation for all members employed under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990, due to the forced retirement age. Of course, this includes Auxiliary Firefighters.
Auxiliary Update - 05 October 2023
In this edition - The Queensland government has released the final report of the independent review into the operation of Queensland’s workers’ compensation scheme.
Auxiliary Update - 06 June 2023
In this edition - Despite many months of requests, the project team responsible for the development of the new availability and tracking app designed for use by auxiliary firefighters has chosen to say nothing and deliberately keep your union in the dark about the app.
Auxiliary Update - 25 January 2023
