AUXILIARY UPDATE : 01 NOVEMBER 2024

AWARD VARIATION – UPDATE

I have previously reported on the application to the QIRC to vary your award (see for example Auxiliary Updates 8 August and 23 October 2024) and advised that there was a conference before the QIRC scheduled for Friday 1 November 2024.

However, the parties to the QIRC matter have now reached an agreed position that the process ought to commence with a series of discussions on a regular basis to identify scope of the matters, what our actual positions are on each topic are, and where there is therefore common ground, and where there is not. 

The parties intend to work to arrive as close as possible to a consent position on varying the award prior to re-involving the QIRC.  We have advised the QIRC of this and the QIRC has agreed to this process commencing and two meetings are planned for November to get the process underway.

I will keep you updated once these initial meetings have taken place.

STATE WAGE CASE 2024 AND BACKPAY

Your union is meeting with QFD again in the week commencing 4 November to progress dates and times for your wage adjustments and backpay and I will update you as soon as I have more information.
